Are You Ready for Your Mother’s Day Sale?

Hey there, estheticians!
It’s Allyson, your marketing and business coach, popping in with some real talk about Mother’s Day promotions.
I’ll be honest—this newsletter wasn’t perfectly planned three weeks ago and mapped out in my content calendar (like it should have been). We’re a little behind, and if you’re thinking, “Mother’s Day isn’t until May…why the panic in March?”—that’s kind of the point.
Most estheticians treat holidays like that: last-minute scrambling, a Canva graphic slapped together, “$20 off this week!!” And then they wonder why it didn’t move the needle. (I’ve been there for years!)
This week, we’re talking about something that makes some of you uncomfortable… promotions. Specifically, Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day Isn’t Just a “Spa Holiday”
It’s a buying holiday. People are already spending—husbands, kids, adult daughters, friends, coworkers. The question isn’t “Will people spend?” The question is: “Will they spend money with YOU?”
And here’s where most estheticians mess it up:
They think a promo is:
Slap a discount on something
Post it twice
Hope people remember
That doesn’t work. The slap-it-together method doesn’t pay rent.
This is exactly why I created the Promo Playbook Checklist—and yes, it’s free.
Promos don’t fail from lack of effort—they fail from lack of structure.
The Right Way to Plan a Mother’s Day Promotion
Before you hit “publish,” ask yourself:
Am I discounting or bundling?
Is this giftable?
Is it easy to explain in one sentence?
Did I build urgency?
Do I have a follow-up plan?
What happens AFTER they redeem it?
Because the goal isn’t just to sell one gift card. The goal is:
Rebooking
Retail sales
Referrals
Long-term clients
Otherwise, you’ve just created two weeks of chaos and called it marketing—and if you’ve done that before, you know how stressful it can be.
Make This Mother’s Day Count
If you’re in a season of growth…If you’re ready to hit bigger revenue goals…If you’re tired of watching other estheticians post “Fully Booked for Mother’s Day!” while you say, “maybe next year”…
Then this is your moment to be intentional.
Inside The Money Making Esthetician, you’ll get the Promo Playbook Checklist and systems that actually make promotions profitable instead of stressful.
Big months aren’t hoped for—they’re planned. Mother’s Day is coming whether you prepare or not.
So which season are you choosing?
“I’ll just see what happens.”
Or “I’m building this on purpose.”
Let’s make May a money month. No panic posting this year—deal?
With love and strategy,
Allyson
