Fall Business Refresh: 3 Things Every Beauty Business Should Update Before the Holiday Rush

6 min read

Fall has a way of making everything feel like it needs a refresh.

The wardrobe. The hair color. The coffee order. The candles you suddenly need in every room of your house.

Your beauty business may need one too.

As summer winds down, the holiday season starts creeping closer. Clients are thinking about holiday parties, family photos, gift giving, vacations, weddings, and all the appointments they want to squeeze in before the end of the year.

That makes fall the perfect time to give your business a little digital cleanup before things get busy.

And no, we are not talking about completely rebranding your business, rebuilding your website from scratch, and spending every waking hour trying to figure out Google.

There are a few strategic updates that can make a big difference.

Here are three areas we would look at first: your website, your SEO, and your branding.

1. Give Your Website a Fall Refresh

Let's start with the place where all of your marketing efforts should eventually lead: your website.

Your Instagram can look amazing. Your Google Business Profile can be optimized. Your latest reel can get 10,000 views.

But if someone clicks through to your website and it feels outdated, confusing, or difficult to book, you may lose them before they ever become a client.

Before the holiday rush, take a few minutes to look at your website like a potential customer would.

Are your services up to date?

Did you add a new facial six months ago but forget to add it to your website?

Is that old summer special still sitting on your homepage?

Does your service menu actually match what you currently offer?

These details seem small, but they matter. Your website should make it incredibly easy for someone to understand what you offer and decide what they want to book.

Is booking easy?

This one sounds obvious, but go through the booking process yourself.

Seriously.

Start at your homepage and pretend you have never visited your website before. How many clicks does it take to actually book an appointment?

If you have to hunt for the booking button, open three different pages, or scroll through a novel before finding your services, your clients are probably having the same experience.

Make booking obvious. Make it easy. And make sure your booking links actually work.

Does your website look current?

Your website does not need a seasonal makeover every three months.

But it should look like it belongs to your business today.

Update outdated photos. Remove old promotions. Add new services. Make sure your team information is current. Check that your contact information is correct.

And please check the mobile version.

A huge portion of your potential clients are going to find your business on their phones. If your website is difficult to navigate on a tiny screen, that is a problem worth fixing before your busiest season.

2. Get Your SEO Ready for Holiday Searches

Now let's talk about the part that can feel a little less exciting but can make a huge difference: SEO.

If you want new clients to find your beauty business through Google, you cannot wait until December to start thinking about it.

SEO takes time.

Google needs time to crawl your website, understand your content, and determine where your pages should appear in search results. That means the work you do now can help set you up for the months ahead.

Think about what your clients will actually be searching for this fall and winter.

Maybe it is:

  • Best facial near me

  • Facial before holiday party

  • Lash extensions near me

  • Brow waxing near me

  • Spray tan before vacation

  • Gift cards for spa services

  • Botox near me

  • Holiday skincare treatments

  • Best esthetician

Your exact search terms will depend on your business, location, and services. The important part is understanding what your ideal clients are searching for and making sure your website gives Google useful information about those services.

Take a look at your service pages

Each major service should have a page on your website that clearly explains what it is, who it is for, what clients can expect, and how to book.

If you offer facials, waxing, lashes, brows, spray tans, injectables, massage, or other beauty services, do not make Google guess what you offer.

Your website should make it obvious.

And if you serve a specific city or area, make sure your website communicates that too. Local SEO is a big piece of how beauty businesses get discovered by people who are actually close enough to become clients.

Do not forget your Google Business Profile

Your website is not the only place people are finding you.

Your Google Business Profile is often one of the first things a potential client sees when they search for your business or a service you offer.

Before the holiday season gets hectic, check your profile.

Are your hours correct? Are your services listed? Is your phone number right?Does your website link work? Are your photos current? Do your reviews reflect the experience you provide?

It is a quick refresh that can make your business look much more active and trustworthy.

Start now, not when you are already busy

This is probably the biggest SEO takeaway.

Do not wait until November and think, "I should probably work on my Google rankings."

By then, you are already in the middle of the season you were trying to prepare for.

SEO is a long game. Fall is a great time to make sure your foundation is strong so you can head into the holiday season with a better chance of being found.

3. Make Sure Your Branding Is Consistent

Now for the fun part.

Your brand should feel like your business, whether someone finds you on Instagram, Google, or your website.

Imagine a potential client sees your Instagram and thinks, "This place is gorgeous."

Then they click your website and suddenly the colors, fonts, photos, and overall vibe feel completely different.

Confusing.

Your branding does not have to be complicated. But it should feel cohesive.

Look at the big three

Start with your:

WebsiteInstagramGoogle Business Profile

Do they look like they belong to the same business?

Your colors, fonts, photography, logo, and overall style should feel connected.

This does not mean everything needs to look identical. Your Instagram can be more casual and your website can be more polished.

The goal is consistency, not copy and paste.

Think about your brand voice too

Branding is not just colors and fonts.

It is also how you sound.

Are you playful? Luxurious? Approachable? Educational? Minimalist? Bold?

Whatever your personality is, try to carry that through your website, social media, emails, and other places your clients interact with your business.

The goal is for someone to recognize your business before they even see your logo.

You might not need a full rebrand

This is important.

A brand refresh does not automatically mean spending thousands of dollars on a new logo.

Sometimes you just need to clean things up.

Maybe your Instagram has evolved but your website has not.

Maybe you have three different versions of your logo floating around.

Maybe your website uses one set of fonts and your social graphics use another.

Maybe your photos no longer represent the experience you provide.

Look for the little inconsistencies first. Those are often the easiest things to fix.

Do It Before the Holiday Rush

The best time to fix your website, work on your SEO, and clean up your branding is not when your calendar is already packed.

It is now.

Fall gives you a little breathing room to look at your business from the outside and ask, "Would I book this?"

Would you trust the website?

Would you know exactly what to book?

Would you be able to find the business on Google?

Would the branding feel professional and consistent?

If the answer is yes, amazing. You are in a great spot.

If the answer is... "Well, maybe," that is your sign to start making some changes.

You do not need to overhaul everything at once. Pick one area, make a few strategic improvements, and keep moving.

And if you would rather leave the SEO, website, and branding work to someone who actually enjoys this stuff, that is where we come in.
