  • 9 Essential Steps to Designing a Client-Centered Intake Form with Heather Dempsey

I interviewed Heather Dempsey, a Therapeutic Coach whose specialty includes crafting the perfect intake form to build your client’s confidence and trust right from the beginning. Here’s what she had to say on how to create the ideal intake form: "The intake form is the first touchpoint that sets the tone for the relationship you’re building with your client. It’s not just about gathering information; it’s about showing that you care and are fully prepared to cater to their unique needs. Here are the key elements to consider when designing it: Start with a Warm Welcome : Your introduction should make the client feel safe and valued. Include a friendly message that explains the purpose of the form and expresses your commitment to understanding their needs. For example: 'Thank you for trusting us with your skincare journey! This form helps us tailor our treatments to meet your unique goals and concerns. Ask Open-Ended Questions : Instead of only using multiple-choice options, include a few open-ended questions. This gives clients the opportunity to share more about themselves, helping you build a more personalized approach. Questions like, 'What are your main skincare concerns?' or 'What would you like to improve about your skin?' can provide valuable insight. Be Mindful of Their Time : While it’s important to gather information, make sure your intake form is not too lengthy. Stick to essential questions that provide a balance between medical, lifestyle, and preference-related queries. Clients should feel like you respect their time and aren't being overwhelmed by paperwork. Show Empathy Through Your Language : Choose wording that makes the client feel understood and supported. For example, instead of asking 'Do you have any skincare concerns?', try 'We’re here to help you feel your best! Could you share any skincare challenges you’ve experienced?' Tailor Questions to Your Service : Customize your form based on the specific services or treatments you provide. If you’re an esthetician, for instance, ask about their daily skincare routine, skin type, and any reactions they’ve had to products in the past. This not only shows you’re attentive but also highlights your expertise. Include Health & Lifestyle Questions : Don’t forget to ask about general health, allergies, and lifestyle habits that can impact their skin. Questions about stress levels, sleep patterns, diet, and medications can give you a clearer picture of what’s going on beneath the surface and help you avoid potential complications. Offer a Space for Additional Notes : Allow clients the opportunity to share anything that wasn’t covered by your questions but is important to them. Something like, 'Is there anything else you’d like us to know to ensure you have the best experience with us?' This can reveal insights you might not have anticipated. Privacy and Confidentiality Assurance : Let clients know their information will be kept confidential and used solely to enhance their experience. A simple note of reassurance can go a long way in building trust early on. Finish with Gratitude : End the form by thanking them for taking the time to share this information. Reassure them that it will be used to ensure a thoughtful and personalized experience." By following these guidelines, you’ll create an intake form that not only gathers the necessary information but also leaves your clients feeling heard, valued, and confident in the care they’re about to receive. • I Don’t Know Who Needs to Hear This, But You Need to Reach Out to Your Clients Now!

As estheticians, we often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily operations—appointments, treatments, consultations, and everything in between. But here’s a little secret: your next booking might be just a phone call, email, or text away. If you haven't connected with clients who haven’t visited in the last 3-5 months, now is the time to reach out. Why? Because these clients are at risk of slipping away, and it’s much easier to re-engage a former client than to acquire a new one. Sometimes, all they need is a little nudge to remind them why they loved coming to see you in the first place. Why It’s Important to Reach Out Clients Get Busy : Life happens, and people forget to book appointments even when they need them. A gentle reminder from you can be the push they need to prioritize their skincare. Building Loyalty : Personalized outreach shows that you care about your clients and their skincare journey, strengthening their loyalty to your business. Filling Gaps in Your Schedule : A quick check-in with past clients can help you fill any slow periods on your calendar, boosting your revenue. The Power of Follow-Up: The Statistics You Need to Know Reaching out to clients who haven’t been in for a few months isn’t just a good idea—it’s a proven strategy that can significantly impact your business. Here’s why: Response Rates : Phone Calls : On average, 20% of clients will answer a cold call from a familiar business. Emails : Expect an open rate of around 30%, with about 5-10% of those who open the email actually booking an appointment. Texts : Text messages boast a much higher open rate—around 98%, with 45% of recipients responding, and up to 20% booking an appointment. Rebooking Rates : Phone Calls : Of those who answer, approximately 30% will rebook immediately or within a week. Emails : While email response rates are lower, about 10% of clients who engage with your email will rebook within a week. Texts : Text messages are the most effective, with around 25% of those who respond rebooking within the same timeframe. A Simple Strategy for Weekly Follow-Ups Mondays : Send out email reminders to clients who haven’t visited in the last 3-5 months. Wednesdays : Make follow-up phone calls to clients who haven’t booked after receiving your email. Fridays : Send a quick, friendly text to those who haven’t responded to your calls or emails, offering a special incentive or simply reminding them to book. By making follow-up a consistent, weekly task, you’ll maximize your chances of filling your schedule and keeping your clients engaged. Remember, the more you reach out, the more likely they are to return! Call Script Introduction: "Hi [Client’s Name], this is [Your Name] from [Your Business Name]. How have you been? • Breaking Down a $100,000 Year: Your Path to Success as an Esthetician

Reaching $100,000 a year in gross income as an esthetician may seem like a lofty goal, but when you break it down into manageable daily and weekly targets, it becomes entirely achievable. By understanding how to structure your services and retail sales, you can map out a clear path to financial success. The Math Behind $100,000 Let’s start by understanding the numbers: Annual Goal: $100,000 Weeks Worked Per Year: 50 (giving yourself two weeks for vacation) Weekly Billing Target: $2,000 Daily Targets Based on Your Work Schedule Now, depending on how many days you work each week, your daily targets will vary: 4 Days a Week: You need to bill $500 per day in services and retail. 5 Days a Week: You only need to bill $400 per day. Hourly Breakdown If you work a five-hour day, here’s what you need to aim for: 5 Days a Week: $400 per day ÷ 5 hours = $80 per hour in combined services and retail. Balancing Services and Retail A successful esthetician knows the importance of balancing services with retail sales. Let’s assume a breakdown where 30% of your income comes from retail and 70% from services: Daily Retail Target: $120 in product sales. Daily Services Target: $280 in services. This translates into selling two or three products and performing four facials each day. Setting Realistic, Achievable Goals By breaking your yearly goal into smaller, daily targets, it becomes easier to focus on what needs to be done. Here’s how you can structure your day: Morning Routine: Prepare your space and review your schedule for the day. Client 1 (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM): $150 facial, recommend and sell $40 in products. Client 2 (11:15 AM - 12:15 PM): $150 facial, recommend and sell $40 in products. Lunch Break (12:15 PM - 1:00 PM) Client 3 (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM): $150 facial, recommend and sell $40 in products. Client 4 (2:15 PM - 3:15 PM): $150 facial, focus on services to hit your $280 target for the day. By setting these goals, you ensure that each hour you work contributes directly to your larger financial goal. Remember, this plan doesn’t even account for tips, which can significantly boost your income. Consistency is Key Consistency in hitting these daily targets will lead to long-term success. It’s essential to maintain a high standard of service and continually educate clients on the value of the products you offer. The more you build trust and deliver results, the easier it becomes to reach your sales goals. Making $100,000 a year as an esthetician is not just possible—it's within reach when you break it down into achievable daily goals. By focusing on a balance of services and retail sales, setting realistic hourly targets, and consistently delivering value to your clients, you can reach this milestone without burning out. Remember, the key is to stay focused, be consistent, and always aim to exceed your clients' expectations.

  • Finding Strength in Faith: Bible Verses for Business Owners Facing Tough Times

Every business owner knows that the path to success is rarely smooth. There are times when challenges feel overwhelming, and the future seems uncertain. During these difficult seasons, it’s crucial to remember that you’re not alone. God’s Word offers comfort, encouragement, and hope to help you navigate through tough times. Here are some powerful Bible verses that can provide strength and reassurance when your business faces hardships. 1. Psalm 46:1-2 - God is Your Refuge "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea." When your business faces challenges, it’s easy to feel vulnerable and afraid. This verse reminds you that God is your refuge and strength. No matter how dire the situation seems, God is always present to help and protect you. With Him by your side, there’s no need to fear. 2. Isaiah 41:10 - Do Not Be Afraid "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." In times of uncertainty, fear can creep in and cloud your judgment. God’s promise in Isaiah is a powerful reassurance that He is with you every step of the way. He will strengthen and support you, even when you feel like giving up. Trust in His unfailing presence. 3. James 1:2-4 - Persevere Through Trials "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." Trials are inevitable in business, but they also have a purpose. This verse encourages you to view challenges as opportunities for growth. Each trial strengthens your perseverance and faith, shaping you into a more resilient and capable leader. Embrace the process, knowing it’s making you stronger. 4. Philippians 4:13 - Strength Through Christ "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." When your strength is fading, and you feel like you can’t go on, this verse serves as a powerful reminder that you can do all things through Christ. He provides the strength you need to overcome obstacles, even when it feels impossible. Lean on Him for the endurance to keep moving forward. 5. Matthew 11:28-30 - Rest in Jesus "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Running a business can be exhausting, especially during tough times. Jesus invites you to bring your burdens to Him and find rest. He doesn’t want you to carry the weight alone. By surrendering your stress and anxiety to Him, you’ll find peace and rest for your soul. 6. 2 Corinthians 12:9 - God's Grace is Sufficient "But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." It’s okay to acknowledge your weaknesses and struggles. In fact, this verse teaches that God’s power shines brightest when we’re at our weakest. His grace is more than enough to carry you through the hardest times. When you rely on His strength, you’ll find that He equips you with everything you need. 7. Romans 8:28 - All Things Work for Good "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." When setbacks and failures arise, it’s easy to question the purpose behind them. This verse is a comforting reminder that God can use every situation, even the difficult ones, for your good. Trust that He is working behind the scenes, orchestrating everything according to His perfect plan. Tough times are an inevitable part of the journey for any business owner. However, these challenges also present an opportunity to deepen your faith and trust in God. By turning to the Bible and meditating on these verses, you can find the strength, hope, and reassurance needed to persevere. Remember, no matter how difficult things get, God is with you, guiding you, and sustaining you through it all. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will see you through every storm.

  • 7 Powerful Bible Verses Every Business Owner

In the fast-paced world of business, it's easy to get caught up in the demands and pressures of the day-to-day grind. However, as a business owner, it's essential to ground your work in principles that not only lead to success but also align with your values. The Bible offers timeless wisdom that can guide you through the challenges and triumphs of running a business. Here are seven Bible verses that every business owner should meditate on and apply in their entrepreneurial journey. 1. Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in God's Guidance "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." As a business owner, making decisions can sometimes be overwhelming. This verse reminds you to trust in God's wisdom rather than relying solely on your understanding. When you submit your business plans and decisions to God, He promises to guide you and direct your paths. 2. Colossians 3:23-24 - Work with Excellence "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." This verse encourages business owners to approach their work with excellence and integrity. When you run your business as if you’re working for God Himself, it elevates the quality of your work and builds a strong foundation of trust with clients and employees. 3. Proverbs 16:3 - Commit Your Work to the Lord "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." By dedicating your business and its operations to God, you invite His blessings and guidance. This verse reassures you that when you align your business goals with God’s purpose, He will help bring those plans to fruition. 4. Luke 6:38 - The Principle of Giving "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Generosity is a key principle in business. Whether it’s giving to your community, your employees, or charitable causes, this verse highlights the blessings that come from being a generous business owner. The more you give, the more you receive in abundance. 5. James 1:5 - Seek Wisdom from God "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." Running a business requires wisdom, especially when facing complex challenges. This verse offers the assurance that God generously provides wisdom to those who seek it. In moments of uncertainty, turn to God in prayer and trust that He will provide the clarity you need. 6. Proverbs 22:1 - Value Your Reputation "A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold." Your reputation in business is invaluable. This verse reminds you that integrity and a good name are worth more than material wealth. Building a business with honesty, fairness, and respect for others will lead to long-term success and a legacy you can be proud of. 7. Philippians 4:6-7 - Peace in the Midst of Anxiety "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." The pressures of business can often lead to anxiety and stress. This verse is a powerful reminder to bring your concerns to God through prayer. His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will protect your heart and mind, allowing you to lead your business with calm and confidence. Incorporating these Bible verses into your business practices can provide a solid spiritual foundation that fosters both personal and professional growth. As you navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship, remember that God's wisdom, guidance, and peace are always available to you. By building your business on these principles, you not only set yourself up for success but also make a positive impact on those you serve.

  • The Power of Gratitude: A Game-Changer for Business Owners

As business owners, we’re often laser-focused on growth, innovation, and achieving the next big milestone. While these are crucial for success, there’s another element that can significantly enhance both our personal well-being and the health of our businesses: gratitude. Recently, I was inspired by a podcast featuring Mo Gawdat, a highly accomplished entrepreneur who has co-founded over 20 businesses and served as the chief business officer at Google X. Mo’s professional achievements are impressive, but what truly sets him apart is his perspective on life and happiness. After facing the devastating loss of his son, Mo embarked on a journey to understand and cultivate happiness, which led him to develop what he calls the ‘happiness equation.’ At the core of this equation is a simple yet powerful idea: happiness comes not from achieving more but from appreciating what we already have. For business owners, this concept of gratitude can be transformative. It’s not just a personal mindset shift; it’s a strategy that can be woven into the very fabric of our businesses. Why Gratitude Matters in Business Gratitude in business isn’t just about being polite or saying thank you—although those are important. It’s about recognizing the value in the everyday moments that make your business thrive. Whether it’s appreciating your team’s hard work, acknowledging your customers’ loyalty, or simply taking a moment to reflect on how far your business has come, gratitude can have a profound impact. Here’s why: Enhanced Employee Engagement : When employees feel appreciated, they’re more engaged, motivated, and loyal. A simple thank you, a note of recognition, or even a small gesture of appreciation can go a long way in boosting morale and productivity. Stronger Customer Relationships : Customers who feel valued are more likely to become repeat clients and advocates for your business. Expressing gratitude can be as simple as sending a personalized thank-you note after a purchase, offering loyalty rewards, or just making sure your customers know you genuinely appreciate their business. Improved Decision-Making : A mindset of gratitude can help you make more thoughtful, balanced decisions. When you’re focused on what’s going well and what you appreciate about your business, you’re more likely to make decisions that align with your values and long-term goals, rather than reacting to stress or pressure. Resilience in the Face of Challenges : Gratitude can help you navigate tough times with greater resilience. When you’re able to recognize the positives, even in difficult situations, you can maintain a more optimistic outlook and find creative solutions to problems. Incorporating Gratitude into Your Business So, how can you, as a business owner, incorporate gratitude into your daily operations? Here are a few practical strategies: Start with Yourself : Begin by setting aside a few minutes each day to reflect on what you’re grateful for in your business. This could be anything from a successful client meeting to a team member who went above and beyond. By cultivating a personal practice of gratitude, you set the tone for your business. Recognize Your Team : Make it a habit to regularly acknowledge and appreciate your employees. This could be through verbal recognition, written notes, or even small rewards. Consider implementing an employee appreciation program where team members can recognize each other’s contributions. Show Gratitude to Your Customers : Create opportunities to thank your customers in meaningful ways. This could be through personalized communications, loyalty programs, or special offers. Make sure your customers know that their support is valued and appreciated. Celebrate Milestones : Don’t wait for major achievements to celebrate. Recognize the small wins along the way—whether it’s reaching a quarterly target, launching a new product, or simply getting positive feedback from a client. These moments are worth acknowledging and celebrating. Incorporate Gratitude into Your Business Culture : Make gratitude a core part of your business culture. This could be through regular team meetings where you share what you’re grateful for, or by encouraging a culture of recognition among employees. The more you embed gratitude into your business, the more it will flourish. The Long-Term Impact of Gratitude Incorporating gratitude into your business isn’t just about making your workplace more pleasant—it’s about creating a foundation for long-term success. Grateful business owners tend to be more resilient, more connected to their teams and customers, and more capable of navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Mo Gawdat’s journey teaches us that happiness and success aren’t just about reaching the next goal; they’re about appreciating the journey along the way. By embracing gratitude, you can create a business environment that’s not only successful but also fulfilling for everyone involved. As you move forward, I encourage you to take a moment each day to appreciate the people, the opportunities, and the successes—big and small—that make your business what it is. Gratitude isn’t just a personal practice; it’s a powerful business strategy that can transform your company from the inside out. https://open.spotify.com/episode/1dBnMUeFd0nqX6j4q7KQK5?si=fUZ9BKK1QE68QizCfmtiJA

  • How to Grow Your Client Base Through Giveaways

Growing your client base as an esthetician or beauty professional can sometimes feel like a challenge, especially in a competitive market. However, one of the most effective strategies to attract new clients and keep them coming back is through the power of giveaways and discounted services. Not only does this allow you to showcase your skills, but it also encourages word-of-mouth referrals, which can significantly boost your business. In this post, I'll walk you through the steps to implement this strategy and how it can lead to long-term client relationships. 1. Why Giveaways Work Giveaways and discounts are a proven way to create buzz and excitement around your services. They allow potential clients to experience what you offer without the barrier of cost, making them more likely to try your services. Once they experience the quality of your work, they’re more likely to return and spread the word to friends and family. Word-of-mouth remains one of the most powerful forms of marketing, especially in the beauty industry. 2. Planning Your Giveaway Before you announce your giveaway, it’s important to plan the details carefully. Start by deciding what service or product you’ll be offering. It could be a popular facial, a skincare product bundle, or a new treatment you want to promote. Determine how many winners you’ll have and how participants can enter the giveaway. Will they need to follow you on social media, tag friends, or share their skincare goals? Setting clear entry requirements will help you maximize engagement and reach. 3. Promoting Your Giveaway on Social Media Social media is the perfect platform to promote your giveaway. Create eye-catching graphics and write engaging captions that build excitement. For example, you could post: “🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 I’m giving away [specific service] to [number of winners] lucky winners for FREE! Plus, a few more will get an amazing discount. To enter, simply [mention the steps they need to take, e.g., like this post, tag a friend, and share your skincare goals in the comments]. Winners will be announced on [date]. Good luck!” Regularly post reminders leading up to the giveaway deadline, and don’t forget to announce the winners and encourage them to share their experience on social media. 4. Email Marketing: Reaching Out to Your Existing Clients Email marketing is another powerful tool to promote your giveaway. Sending a well-crafted email to your existing clients ensures they’re aware of the opportunity and feel valued. Here’s an example of what you could send: Subject: Treat Yourself! Turning Participants into Returning Clients The ultimate goal of a giveaway or discount is to convert participants into loyal clients. After the giveaway, follow up with the winners and participants. Send a thank-you note, and consider offering a special discount on their next service. This not only shows appreciation but also encourages them to book another appointment. Encourage them to share their experience with friends and on social media. Consider implementing a referral program where they receive a discount for each new client they refer. This keeps the momentum going and helps expand your client base through word-of-mouth. 6. Measuring Success Finally, it’s important to measure the success of your giveaway or discount campaign. Track the number of entries, new followers, and bookings that result from the promotion. Evaluate the feedback from participants and see if there’s an increase in word-of-mouth referrals. This information will help you refine future promotions and continue to grow your business. Giveaways and discounted services are more than just promotional tactics; they’re powerful tools to build lasting relationships with new clients. By planning strategically, promoting effectively, and following up thoughtfully, you can turn a simple giveaway into a successful client acquisition strategy. • How to Create an Instagram Bio That Drives Bookings

Your Instagram bio is one of the most powerful tools in your social media toolkit. It’s the first thing potential clients see when they visit your profile, and it needs to make a strong impression. A well-crafted bio can convey your expertise, build trust, and ultimately encourage people to book a facial with you. Here’s how to set up your Instagram bio for success, along with a checklist to ensure you’re hitting all the right notes. Key Elements to Include in Your Instagram Bio Clear and Compelling Description Start with a brief description that clearly states who you are and what you offer. For example, “Licensed Esthetician specializing in acne treatments and customized facials.” Unique Value Proposition (UVP) What sets you apart from other estheticians? Highlight your unique skills or services. For example, “Home of the $99 Summer Facial – experience spa-like results with no downtime.” Location Include your city or area to make it easy for local clients to find you. Example: “Located in Valley Village, CA.” Call to Action (CTA) Encourage visitors to take the next step. Example: “Book your glow-up today! Link below.” Link to Booking Platform Use the link in bio to direct users to your booking site. Example: “Book Your Facial Now” Website Link Include your website for more information or to explore other services. Example: “ Visit Our Website ” Social Proof Mention any certifications, awards, or notable features that build credibility. Example: “Certified by [Your Accreditation Body] | Featured in [Notable Publication].” Emojis & Formatting Use emojis to add personality and break up text, but don’t overdo it. Choose emojis that match your brand vibe. Branded Hashtag If you have a branded hashtag, include it in your bio to encourage user-generated content. Example: “Tag us: #GlowWithMaria.” Instagram Bio Checklist for Success Is your bio clear and easy to understand? Does it showcase your unique value proposition? Have you included your location? Is there a strong call to action encouraging bookings? Is your booking link easy to find? Have you included your website link? Do you mention any certifications or awards? Have you used emojis tastefully? Is there a branded hashtag? What to Avoid in Your Instagram Bio Too Much Information : Don’t overwhelm visitors with too many details. Keep it concise and to the point. Overuse of Emojis : While emojis can add flair, using too many can make your bio look cluttered and unprofessional. Vague Descriptions : Avoid generic phrases like “Skincare Expert.” Be specific about what you offer and how it benefits your clients. No CTA : Failing to include a call to action can lead to missed opportunities. Always guide visitors on what to do next. Lack of Updates : Regularly review and update your bio to reflect new services, promotions, or changes in your business. Example of a Good Instagram Profile @glowwithmaria Licensed Esthetician | Skin Health Expert ✨ Specializing in acne treatments & anti-aging facials 📍 Valley Village, CA 💆‍♀️ Home of the $99 Summer Facial – Spa results, no downtime 🎯 Book your glow-up today! Book Here🌐 Visit our website: thebeautyplugbymaria.com 🏆 Certified by CIDESCO | Featured in Allure 📸 Tag us in your post-facial glow: #GlowWithMaria Why This Profile is Good: Clear Description: It immediately tells visitors who Maria is and what she specializes in. Location: It’s easy for local clients to find out where she’s based. Value Proposition: The $99 Summer Facial is highlighted, making it clear what sets her apart. Call to Action: The bio directs visitors to book an appointment. Social Proof: Mentioning certifications and a feature in a well-known publication builds trust. Links: Easy access to booking and website links makes it simple for potential clients to take action. Branded Hashtag: Encourages user-generated content, which can increase engagement and credibility. Example of a Bad Instagram Profile @skinexpert123 Esthetician 💆‍♀️ Love skincare!DM for appointmentsBased in LA 🙂 New clients welcome Why This Profile is Bad: Vague Description: “Esthetician” and “Love skincare” are too generic and don’t convey any unique value or expertise. No Unique Selling Point: There’s nothing that sets this esthetician apart from others. Lack of Location Detail: "Based in LA" is too broad; specific areas help local clients. No Clear Call to Action: “DM for appointments” is vague and doesn’t guide the visitor clearly to book. No Social Proof or Credentials: There’s no mention of certifications, awards, or anything that builds trust. No Link: There’s no booking link or website, making it hard for potential clients to book an appointment or learn more. Key Takeaways: A good Instagram profile is clear, concise, and offers value to potential clients. It includes a strong call to action, clear location details, and links to make booking easy. A bad profile, on the other hand, is vague, lacks direction, and misses opportunities to build trust and encourage bookings. Your Instagram bio is more than just a few lines of text—it's your digital handshake with potential clients. By following this guide and using the checklist, you can create a bio that not only represents your brand but also drives more facial bookings. Remember, simplicity and clarity are key. Make it easy for people to understand who you are, what you offer, and how they can book an appointment with you. Feel free to share your new bio with your followers and encourage them to check it out. And if you're looking to further enhance your Instagram strategy, stay tuned for more tips on creating engaging posts and stories that convert!

  • Exclusive Interview with Crickett Enos of Chakrawax: Unveiling the Secrets to Success in the Beauty Industry

CLICK HER FOR A FREE BRAZILIAN HARD WAX DEMO WITH CRICKETT https://thewaxchick.com/pages/free-brazilian-hard-wax-demo-with-crickett?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR2EJSDI78EZGcmgFIPuWHy_s26Ea7GehUuozp0DYlIJ6HXLSLcb9mZ_lEU_aem_qXPMrk8XAUDJNuGNUR1dQA Crickett Enos, the founder of Chakrawax, is a name that resonates deeply within the beauty industry. With her expertise in waxing and a passion for empowering beauty professionals, she has become a respected educator and mentor. In this exclusive interview, Crickett shares her journey, insights, and valuable advice for beauty professionals looking to thrive in this dynamic field. 1. From Hi-Tech to Beauty: Crickett’s Inspiring Journey Q: What inspired you to dive into the beauty world? Crickett’s journey into the beauty industry began with an unexpected turn of events. After being laid off from her hi-tech job in 2000, she decided to follow her long-held interest in makeup. "I had always been interested in the beauty industry, makeup in particular, so I decided to become a makeup artist," Crickett shares. After taking numerous classes, she began working in bridal makeup and independent films. Her cousin, a Hollywood makeup artist, suggested she pursue an Esthetics license, a common path for many makeup artists. This advice led Crickett back to school, where she trained to become an Esthetician. "From there, it was a hop, skip, and a jump to becoming a waxing expert and educator," she says. Waxing quickly became her passion, ticking all the boxes she was looking for in a career: quick results, immediate client satisfaction, and a unique challenge that she thrived on. 2. Crickett’s Approach to Pricing: It’s All About Value Q: How should beauty professionals determine their pricing? Pricing is often a daunting task for beauty professionals, but Crickett’s approach is refreshingly straightforward. "It really comes down to value—your personal value of yourself," she emphasizes. For her, pricing isn't about experience or competition but about how much you believe you're worth. "If you think you are worth it, everyone else will. It's a mindset." Crickett advises against pricing based on competition or cost, which she considers outdated methods. Instead, she believes in setting prices that reflect the value of the service and the experience provided to the client. "The truth is, the higher you price your services, the higher your perceived value will be," she explains, highlighting the importance of confidence in your pricing decisions. 3. Crafting Irresistible Service Packages Q: What’s the secret to creating irresistible service packages? When it comes to creating service packages, Crickett encourages beauty professionals to think creatively and cater to their most loyal clients. "Think about your customer base, or at least your VIPs. Create something exclusive just for them," she suggests. This could include their favorite services paired with home care products, or even a few of your personal favorite items that have nothing to do with skincare. For Crickett, the key to a successful package is in the thought and effort behind it, not necessarily in offering a discount. "Value doesn't necessarily mean a discount or cheap. It means that you've put thought and effort into crafting something that speaks to your client's soul," she explains. This personalized approach makes clients feel pampered and valued, which is the true essence of a great service package. 4. Strategies for Attracting New Clients Q: What are your top strategies for attracting new clients? Crickett has tried it all when it comes to client acquisition—paid advertising, social media, local events, and more. However, she finds that word-of-mouth remains the most effective method. "Growing your business doesn't always mean you need to attract new clients," she notes, suggesting that beauty professionals start with their existing clients first. Crickett advises professionals to actively promote the services and products they want to sell more of, as clients often aren’t aware of everything on the menu. "When someone books a basic facial, suggest an upgrade to a more advanced facial with more anti-aging superpowers," she recommends. For those starting from scratch, she suggests offering complimentary services to friends, family, and local service providers to generate referrals. "There are so many things you can do. You just have to do it!" Crickett encourages. 5. Keeping Clients Coming Back for More Q: How do you keep clients coming back for more? For Crickett, client retention boils down to exceptional customer service. "Respect is the biggest gift that you can give to anyone," she says. She emphasizes the importance of respecting clients' time and consistently providing a welcoming, professional environment. "Make sure you're overflowing with joy every time you see them. That will keep them coming back again and again." Her meticulous preparation, such as arriving early to ensure everything is set up for her first appointment, demonstrates her commitment to providing the best possible experience for her clients. This level of care and professionalism is what sets her apart and keeps her clients loyal. 6. Major Do’s and Don’ts in the Beauty Industry Q: What are some major do's and don'ts you've learned in your career? Crickett has learned many lessons throughout her career, but one of the most important is to take responsibility when things go wrong. "If something goes wrong, or you've made a mistake, take responsibility for it, and do your best to reconcile it," she advises. She also stresses the importance of being true to yourself and charging what you're worth from the start. "It's harder to raise prices than it is to charge what you're worth. Charge what you're worth from the start," she suggests. Finally, Crickett reminds beauty professionals that it's not their job to determine what clients can afford. "If they value you and what you have to offer, they will gladly pay the price." 7. The 10-Minute Wax Trend: Crickett’s Take Q: What’s your take on the 10-minute wax trend? The 10-minute wax trend has gained popularity, but Crickett has reservations about it. "Fast doesn't mean better, it just means fast," she states. While it’s possible to achieve great results in a short amount of time, she believes that quality can sometimes be compromised. Crickett books 30-minute time slots for Brazilians, allowing ample time for client preparation, skin analysis, waxing, retail recommendations, and re-booking. For her, this approach not only ensures a better experience for the client but also reduces the physical toll on the esthetician. "Personally, I would rather do 2 for the same or more and save the wear and tear on the body," she explains. 8. Preparing for the Busy Holiday Season Q: How can we get ready for the busy Halloween and holiday season? Fall and the holiday season are among the busiest times of the year, and Crickett advises beauty professionals to start preparing early. "Start thinking now about what holiday services or specials you want to offer," she suggests. From crafting seasonal emails to stocking up on specialty products, early preparation is key to making the most of this bustling time. Crickett also recommends planning a holiday event for VIP clients, complete with special offers, treats, and entertainment. This not only drives sales but also strengthens relationships with your most loyal clients. 9. Words of Wisdom: What Crickett Wishes She Had Known Q: Looking back, what do you wish you had known when you started? Reflecting on her journey, Crickett shares a profound insight: "We all end up where we were meant to be, and the journey we decide to take is meant to teach us those things we most need to learn." She wishes she had known that life is all about change and that nothing ever stays the same. Her advice to those just starting out? Embrace change and growth, and trust that the right clients will follow you on your journey. Crickett Enos’ wisdom and experience are invaluable for anyone in the beauty industry. Her journey from hi-tech to beauty, her approach to pricing and client care, and her insights on trends and business growth offer a roadmap for success. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to elevate your business, Crickett’s advice is a powerful reminder that confidence, value, and exceptional service are the keys to a thriving career in beauty.

  • Mastering the Art of Pre-Selling: How to Nurture Leads and Train Your Virtual Assistant

I recently sat down with Tony from Beauty Biz Pro to discuss strategies for generating leads for the fall season. What I quickly discovered is that converting those leads into clients is a much deeper process than it initially seems. Below are the notes I took during our conversation, which I’m excited to share with you. follow his IG here: https://www.instagram.com/official_tonycruz/ Pre-Sell Yourself Pre-selling isn't just about the product or service you offer—it's about establishing trust and credibility with potential clients before they even make a purchase. Your first priority should be to get in front of more people, showcasing the value you bring. Remember, sales is all about building relationships, and it's important to keep in mind that it's not personal; it’s business. The Importance of Follow-Up One of the most crucial aspects of sales is following up with leads. A potential customer might not make a decision right away, but staying on their radar can eventually lead to a sale. As we head into the fall season, it's time to start running ads. While discounts can be enticing, consider running a paid ad with a combo special instead, providing more value to whatever you're offering. How to Train and Hire Your Virtual Assistant (VA) Finding the right Virtual Assistant (VA) can be a game-changer for your business. Start by looking for candidates in Facebook groups dedicated to virtual assistants. Pay attention to how long a person has been active in these groups, as this can be a good indicator of their experience and reliability. Once you've found potential candidates, it's essential to train them effectively. Make sure they understand your business, your sales process, and how to nurture leads. Crafting Effective Ads When it comes to ads, remember that you have just three seconds to capture someone's attention. Surprisingly, standard image ads often outperform video ads. If you're unsure where to start, consider running ads that offer tips for the fall season—this adds value and relevance to your content. Engaging with Your Audience After your ads are live, be sure to DM everyone who engages with your content. A simple message like, "Have you thought about treating yourself to a service this holiday season?" can open up a conversation that leads to a booking. And when crafting your ads, remember: less is more. Avoid overwhelming your audience with too much information—just enough to spark interest. Nurture Your Business to Boost Sales One key to boosting your business is nurturing your existing products and services. If you can sell what you already have, there's no need to constantly bring in new items. Consider offering pre-sale packages to gauge interest and build anticipation. Create an interest list to keep track of potential clients and nurture these relationships over time. Finally, don't be afraid to charge what you want to charge. When you provide value, clients will be willing to pay for it. Focus on delivering more than expected, and your customers will see the worth in your offerings. • How to Confidently Choose the Best Skincare Products for Your Clients

How to Determine if a Skincare Line is Right for You Choosing the right skincare line for your treatment room is a crucial decision that impacts the quality of your services and your clients' satisfaction. Here’s a guide to help you determine if a skincare line is a good fit for your business: 1. Evaluate Their Continuing Education Programs One of the first things to check when considering a skincare line is whether they offer ongoing education. A reputable brand invests in educating professionals to ensure they’re knowledgeable about their products and techniques. For instance, Green Envee offers comprehensive education through Green Envee University, which includes courses like: Facial Massage Techniques Marma 101 Bliss Marma Glow Massage Protocol Marma Point Overview + Massage Sequence Stress Remedy Marma Massage Temporalis + Masseter Intro to Gua Sha Sculpt + Lymphatic Drainage Gua Sha Sculpt Gua Sha Neck Tension These classes are invaluable as they teach you how to effectively use their products and incorporate advanced techniques into your treatments. This ensures that you’re not only providing high-quality services but also staying at the forefront of industry trends. take a look here: https://wholesale.greenenvee.com/professional-account-options/ https://greenenveeuniversity.com 2. Request Samples Before fully committing to a skincare line, always ask for samples. This allows you to test the products and understand their effects on different skin types. It’s essential to be thoroughly familiar with the line— know it front to back and back to front . For example, not all exfoliants or enzymes are suitable for first-time clients, so it's crucial to understand which products are best for sensitive or untested skin. This knowledge ensures you can offer the best experience and tailor treatments to each client’s needs. 3. Email Script for Skincare Lines When you’re ready to explore working with a new skincare line, sending an introductory email is a great first step. Here’s a script you can use: Subject: Request for Samples to Test in My Practice Dear [Skincare Line Team], I hope this message finds you well. My name is [Your Name], and I’m the owner of [Your Business Name] located in [Your City]. I’m very interested in potentially incorporating [Skincare Line] products into my treatment offerings, as I believe they could be a great fit for my clients. Before making a commitment, I would love the opportunity to try out a few of your products to see how they perform in my practice. If possible, could you send me samples of [specific products you're interested in]? Please send the samples to: [Your Name][Your Business Name][Street Address][City, State, Zip Code] I’m excited to explore the possibilities of working together and appreciate your consideration of my request. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards,[Your Name][Your Contact Information][Website or Social Media Handle] 4. Consider Key Factors Before Committing Before making a final decision, consider these important aspects: Customer Service : How responsive and supportive is their customer service team? Drop Shipping : Do they offer drop shipping to make product delivery easier for you and your clients? Shipping Time : How long does it take for products to arrive after ordering? This is crucial for maintaining stock levels. Product Availability : Are the products frequently out of stock? Consistent availability is key to ensuring you can always meet your clients' needs. 5. Recommended Skincare Lines Here is a list of skincare lines that are highly regarded in the industry: https://www.madprofessional.com https://advanced-aesthetics-source.com https://www.wishpro.us https://www.greenenvee.com https://jelly-masks.com https://skinscriptrx.com Choosing the right skincare line for your practice is a critical step in delivering exceptional results and maintaining client satisfaction. By thoroughly evaluating continuing education programs, requesting samples, and considering key factors like customer service and product availability, you can ensure that the products you incorporate align with your professional standards and the needs of your clients. Taking the time to make an informed decision will not only enhance your services but also build trust and loyalty with your clientele.

  • Back-to-School Prep: How I'm Easing the Transition with a Simple Checklist

Back-to-School Prep: How I'm Easing the Transition with a Simple Checklist As summer winds down and the start of a new school year approaches, life tends to get a bit hectic. If you’re like me, juggling both household responsibilities and running a business, the first few weeks of school can feel overwhelming. The shift from the relaxed summer vibe to a structured routine can be a challenge for everyone in the family, especially our kids. Why a Checklist? In my household, I’ve found that having a clear plan helps to ease the transition. This year, I created a simple checklist to give my daughter a little bit of direction during these busy weeks. It’s a small but powerful tool that keeps her on track and helps me manage everything else on my plate. Morning Routine Checklist A consistent morning routine sets a positive tone for the day and helps everyone stay organized. Here’s what our morning routine looks like: Wake Up – Start the day early to avoid rushing. Go to the Bathroom – Freshen up and get ready. Brush Teeth and Wash Face – Begin with a clean slate. Get Dressed – Put on the clothes you prepared the night before. Make Bed – Tidy up your sleeping space to create a sense of order. Brush Hair – Groom for a fresh and ready look. Make Breakfast – Fuel up with a nutritious meal to kickstart your energy. Put on Shoes – Be ready to head out comfortably. Get Backpack – Pack all the essentials for school. Morning Prayer – Start the day with a moment of reflection or gratitude. Evening Routine (Starts at 6 PM) A well-structured evening routine helps wind down and prepare for a restful night. Here’s how our evening routine goes: One Hour of Electronics – Limit screen time to wind down. Shower – Freshen up and relax before bed. Brush Teeth – Maintain good oral hygiene. Pick Up Room – Tidy up the space for a peaceful environment. Get Clothes for the Next Day – Prepare for a smooth morning. 30 Minutes of Reading – Enjoy some quiet time with a good book. Night Story & Prayer – End the day with a calming story and a moment of reflection. Feel Free to Adapt! Feel free to use these routines as a guide and adjust them to fit your family’s needs. A structured routine can ease the transition into the new school year and help everyone stay organized and prepared. Share Your Tips What are your go-to routines for managing busy mornings and evenings? Do you have any strategies that help your family get out the door smoothly? • Getting Ready for Halloween: A Guide for Estheticians

As the summer winds down and stores like Target start rolling out their Halloween displays, it’s a signal that we, as estheticians, need to get our seasonal offers ready. Waiting until the last minute can lead to missed opportunities and unnecessary stress. By preparing now, you can ensure a smooth, successful, and spooky season. Here’s how you can get ready, market your Halloween offers, and stay ahead of the game. 1. Crafting Your Halloween Facial Offer Before diving into marketing strategies, it’s essential to decide what your Halloween facial offer will be. Here are a few ideas specifically for facials: Pumpkin Spice Facials: Utilize pumpkin enzymes and spice extracts to create a signature facial that resonates with the season. Vampire Facials: Create a dramatic, themed facial using products that rejuvenate the skin, mimicking the effects of a vampire facial. Limited-Edition Products: Feature products with a Halloween twist, such as pumpkin-scented moisturizers or masks with festive packaging. Special Discounts: Provide seasonal discounts on popular facials to encourage clients to book their Halloween appointments early. 2. Five Ways to Market Your Halloween Facial Offer Once your offer is set, the next step is to get the word out. Here are five effective marketing strategies: Social Media Campaigns: Teasers and Countdowns: Start posting teasers about your Halloween specials at least a month in advance. Use countdowns to build anticipation. Themed Content: Share Halloween-themed content, such as skincare tips for post-makeup care, DIY pumpkin masks, or spooky transformation videos. Influencer Collaborations: Partner with local influencers to promote your offers. Their endorsement can significantly boost your reach and credibility. Email Marketing: Seasonal Newsletters: Send out a Halloween-themed newsletter highlighting your special offers. Include exclusive discounts for your subscribers. Early Bird Promotions: Offer special deals for clients who book early. This not only drives early sales but also helps in managing your schedule efficiently. In-Store Promotions: Decor and Ambiance: Decorate your spa or salon with Halloween decorations to create a festive atmosphere. This enhances the client experience and sets the mood for your offers. Exclusive Events: Host a Halloween-themed event, such as a pampering night with mini-treatments and product samples. This can attract new clients and engage existing ones. Collaborations and Partnerships: Local Businesses: Partner with local businesses to cross-promote each other’s Halloween offers. This can expand your reach within the community. Product Companies: Collaborate with companies that offer pumpkin products. Create bundles or special packages that feature their products, adding value to your offers. Online Presence: Website Updates: Create a dedicated section on your website for Halloween specials. Ensure it’s easy to navigate and visually appealing. Blog Posts: Write engaging blog posts about Halloween skincare tips, the benefits of pumpkin products, and how clients can prepare their skin for Halloween makeup. This not only informs but also drives traffic to your website. 3. Preparing Your Offer Preparation is key to a successful Halloween campaign. Here’s how you can get ready: Stock Up: Ensure you have enough stock of the products and materials needed for your Halloween offers. Marketing Materials: Prepare your marketing materials in advance, including social media graphics, email templates, and in-store posters. Booking System: Make sure your booking system can handle an influx of appointments. Consider offering online booking for added convenience. 4. Social Media Ideas Here are three engaging social media ideas to promote your Halloween facial offers: Transformation Tuesday: Share before-and-after photos of clients who’ve received your Halloween-themed facials. Highlight the products and techniques used to achieve the looks. Spooky Skincare Tips: Post short videos or reels with skincare tips for the Halloween season. This could include tips on removing heavy makeup, using pumpkin-infused products, or maintaining skin health during the cooler months. Client Testimonials: Feature testimonials from clients who have enjoyed your Halloween facials in the past. Encourage them to share their experiences and tag your business. 5. Newsletter Strategy To keep your clients informed and engaged, send out a series of newsletters leading up to Halloween: Initial Newsletter: Subject Line: "Get Ready for Halloween with Our Spooky Specials!" Content: Introduce your Halloween facials, provide details on special promotions, and highlight any exclusive events or products. Follow-Up Newsletter: Subject Line: "Don't Miss Out on Our Halloween Facial Deals!" Content: Offer a gentle reminder of your Halloween specials, include any updates or new additions, and share client testimonials or reviews to build excitement and trust. 6. • Celebrating Another Year of Life and Setting Big Goals

Today, I’m filled with immense gratitude as I celebrate my birthday. First and foremost, I want to thank God for this beautiful life, for the opportunities I've been given, and for the people who surround me with love and support. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to pursue my passions and help others along the way. As I reflect on the past year, I realize how much I've grown both personally and professionally. But I’m also looking ahead with excitement because there’s so much I want to accomplish this year. After listening to a podcast by Daniella Warner, I felt a spark of inspiration. On the podcast, they discussed setting big goals, and it got me thinking—I want to host an event that generates $10,000. Secretly, I’m aiming even higher, hoping to reach $100,000. But I believe $10,000 is still an incredible goal and a stepping stone towards something even greater. To build momentum, I've been hosting influencer events, and I’ve discovered that batching my efforts is far more efficient. Instead of scattering collaborations throughout the month, I plan to schedule them all on one day. This way, I can bring in a videographer to capture the content, and everything will be streamlined. It’s all about working smarter, not harder! Looking ahead, I’m planning two exciting events in October and November. The October event will be a pumpkin painting day where moms can bring their kids for some fun with a face painter. While the kids are occupied, the moms can indulge in 30-minute Korean skincare treatments. I can accommodate two people at once, and I'll also be selling packages and gift cards—perfect for early holiday shopping! In November, I’ll be hosting a gratitude dinner for my clients, a chance to give thanks and celebrate our journey together. Another dream of mine is to organize an esthetician meet-up. I have a client who just opened a stunning event space in downtown Los Angeles called The Grotto, and she’s graciously offered the space for our gathering. I envision a content day where we bring all our equipment and capture beautiful headshots and social media content. It’ll be a day of connection, collaboration, and creativity. I’m already in talks with Elizabeth from DermaJem, and you know we’re going to make it fabulous! We might even do a JetPlasma demo, thanks to the amazing Kala Duncan. I’m feeling incredibly motivated and grateful for the chance to live out my passion for helping others. And of course, I must give a special shoutout to my daughter and my partner—they are my world, and I thank God every day for them. As I embark on this new year of life, I ask for your prayers that God continues to guide me in the right direction as I run my business. I’m excited for what’s to come and ready to embrace the journey with open arms. Thank you for being a part of this incredible ride!

  • What Many Solo Estheticians Overlook When Trying to Attract New Clients

Social Media Isn’t the Only Way to Grow Your Client List For many solo estheticians, attracting new clients often means focusing heavily on social media marketing. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok have become popular tools for showcasing treatments, sharing skincare tips, and building brand awareness. While social media can absolutely work, it often requires consistent content creation, algorithm changes, and time  before followers turn into actual booked appointments. Because of this, many estheticians overlook another potential client discovery channel: gift card marketplaces. A Different Way Clients Search for Services Platforms like Spafinder  connect wellness seekers with spas, estheticians, and beauty professionals who accept their gift cards. When someone receives a Spafinder Gift Card , they visit the platform with a specific goal — to book a service . They’re not casually scrolling like on social media. They’re actively searching for treatments such as: Facials Skincare treatments Lash services Spa experiences Beauty treatments In other words, these clients are already planning to spend money . They just need to find a provider who accepts their gift card. A Network of Established Wellness Brands Spafinder’s marketplace includes a mix of large wellness brands and independent professionals. Some recognizable brands in the network include: Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa The Lash Lounge Deka Lash Alongside these larger brands are many solo estheticians and boutique skincare studios  who use the platform as an additional way to get discovered. For independent professionals working to fill treatment rooms, being visible in places where people are already looking for services  can make a meaningful difference. A Low-Risk Way to Test the Platform To celebrate its 40th anniversary , Spafinder is offering estheticians a limited-time opportunity to try the platform with minimal cost. The “6 for 6” Trial 6 months listed on Spafinder $1 per month during the trial Exposure to thousands of gift card holders searching for services There’s no heavy upfront marketing investment  required. Estheticians simply pay a 20% fee when a gift card client redeems at their business , meaning you only pay when a client actually books and uses their gift card. Adding Another Client Discovery Channel For many estheticians, growth doesn’t come from relying on a single marketing channel. Instead, it comes from combining several strategies: Social media marketing Client referrals Local partnerships Google searches Online marketplaces Platforms like Spafinder can serve as another discovery channel , helping connect your services with clients who are actively searching for wellness treatments. Sometimes the Opportunity Isn’t Another Post If you’ve been looking for new ways to bring skincare clients through the door, it may be worth exploring platforms that already attract wellness-focused customers. Because sometimes the opportunity isn’t creating another social media post . Sometimes it’s simply being present where clients are already searching for services.
